Chronic and Invisible Illness Support
Living with a chronic illness is hard enough
You shouldn't have to fight to be believed on top of it. You are not making this up. And it's not "just anxiety." These are real medical conditions, and they can be overwhelming, unpredictable, and isolating. Symptoms can range from mild to completely disabling, and they don't always show up in ways others can see. It's hard to even describe your experience to people who haven't lived it, let alone find the medical care and social support you need — no wonder it feels so isolating.
I work with clients managing:
Long COVID — up to 200 possible symptoms, mild to disabling
POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) — dizziness, fatigue, heart rate irregularities
EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) — joint instability, chronic pain
MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) — unpredictable allergic-type reactions
ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) — profound, unrelenting fatigue
Fibromyalgia — widespread pain and fatigue
Chronic pain — affecting daily life and relationships
Other invisible and hard-to-diagnose conditions
How Therapy Can Help
Living with a chronic or invisible illness affects more than your body — it affects your mood, your relationships, your sense of identity, and how you cope day to day. I understand these challenges from both a clinical and personal perspective, and I use a supportive counseling style that draws from CBT, ACT, and somatic tools to help you manage the emotional weight of chronic illness, build coping strategies that work with your body (not against it), and process the grief, anxiety, or frustration that often comes with navigating a medical system that doesn't always take you seriously.
It's hard to know where to go for help and support, to find accurate information, and to not feel judged by others. Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been navigating a chronic condition for years, I will support and validate your lived experience and help you figure out how to move forward.
